Leadership
can be an awesome responsibility. It can even be more challenging
when you preach one thing and do another. The focus here is to
get leaders to understand that what they model is perhaps their most
important choice as a leader. Dave shares examples from his years
as a high school principal.
“A
Culture of Character”
The
news is infested with stories of greed, corruption and scandal.
Unfortunately, this often involves business. Businesses emphasize
their assets and liabilities. The reputation of a business can
be its greatest asset or its most harmful liability. Is your business
associated with ethics and integrity? Dave will emphasize ways
to incorporate a culture of character in your business. Businesses
will benefit by having higher morale and a productive working climate.

This presentation
is aimed at those starting their college days. This is an important
time of transition with so much at stake. Dave will discuss with
the students some of the challenges they will face such as peer pressure,
personal responsibility, time management, organizational skills, and
stress. Dave also encourages the students to pursue their dreams
and to maintain a sense of balance. The students will feel better
equipped to take on the challenges of college life.
MIDDLE
SCHOOL / HIGH SCHOOL
“CPR
(Choice, Power, and Responsibility)”
This
is a message that is aimed at teens and young adults. The focus
here is to get young people to understand that they control their destiny.
Their ability to understand what they control and don’t control in their
life is critical. When young people realize that when they control
their decisions they control their life; they will feel empowered.
Dave shares examples from his twelve years in education.

“You Are a Life Changer”
Educators
have the wonderful opportunity of working with young people every day.
Not only do they teach students subject matter, but they also teach
students life skills. Dave will emphasize that educators have
the potential to improve lives. Dave will also focus on the relationship
between educators and students. Educators will be re-focused and
re-energized.
“Character
and Coaching”
Coaches
have a very powerful job. Their actions, words, and values can
have a positive impact on young people. However, they can also
have a negative impact. The focus here is to get coaches to understand
how important their job as role model truly is. Coaching is more
than Xs and Os, and coaches need to take advantage of the opportunities
to teach beyond the sport. Dave shares personal examples from
his twelve years of coaching.

Education Workshop”
As
a high school principal, Dave chaired a committee that successfully
integrated Character Education into the regular curriculum. Dave
will share with you and your staff some of the strategies used when
developing a Character Education program. He will also share some
of the successes and failures they experienced during this process.

Parenting is
the most challenging and rewarding job in the world. What parents
model for their children is critical because our children see everything
we do and hear everything we say. In this presentation, Dave focuses
on communication between parents and children and raising children with
character and values. This presentation will enhance the relationship
between parents and their children.
BOOSTER CLUBS
School
activities and sports bring a sense of pride and identity to a school.
Dave discusses the benefits of all school activities such as the life
skills they can promote. Dave also emphasizes to coaches, sponsors,
parents, students and community supporters, the importance of keeping
things in perspective. Dave will share examples from his 12 years
in education and coaching.
In
all of Dave’s presentations, he uses humor and personal stories from
his years as a teacher, coach and principal.
